In its tenth year, the Celebration Exotic Car Festival reigns supreme, offering everything from two track days at the world’s most famous racing circuit (Daytona), a world-class concours style car show, one of Orlando, Florida’s premiere VIP parties, and a blisteringly fast road rally through the countryside. As our monthly Cars & Coffee meets have been getting bigger and bigger we had a nice little treat this month. The Suncoast British Car Club sent us an email saying we will be invaded by the British for the April meet. They rolled into Suncoast Motorsports with over 20 little British cars and helped us break our attendance record with an amazing 87 cars. Guests saw everything from a Lingenfelter supercharged Corvette Grand Sport to a Porsche Carrera GT and even a 1,000 horsepower Toyota Supra Turbo. And as always at Suncoast, Panera bagels and Starbucks coffee keeps everyone happy.
I had the opportunity to finally get some private time with one of my favorite modern Ferraris, the incredible Scuderia Spider 16M. The 16M represents Ferrari’s 16th Constructor’s Championship in Formula 1 racing back in 2008. It’s just as raw and hardcore as its hardtop sibling, but sounds even better with no roof. With the recent release of Ferrari’s all-new fire breathing F12 Berlinetta dealerships throughout the United States have been getting their turn at a local launch party. Current and potential customers receive invites to see the car up close and personal while enjoying food, drinks, and great company. Ferrari of Tampa Bay hosted their viewing of the F12 last week and I was fortunate enough to be able to cover the event. I had my beautiful girlfriend along with me to enjoy the evening. On December 15, 2012 Suncoast Motorsports hosted their annual “Porsches in the Park” car show at St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota, Florida. A free-of-charge event for all Porsche owners brought out over 100 of Stuttgart’s finest creations. Everything from vintage 356′s to the latest and greatest GT3 RS models were on display for auto enthusiasts to enjoy. Continue reading
The annual Sarasota Exotic Car Festival keeps getting bigger and better. The kickoff party for the 2013 SECF was held at Lamborghini Sarasota where the brand new facelifted 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 was unveiled. Guests enjoyed drinks, hor d’oeuvres, a live band and a stunning display of the area’s upper echelon of exotic cars.
On December 1, 2012 Suncoast Motorsports in Sarasota, Florida hosted the 2012 Holiday Toy Run, with all proceeds going to the Toys for Tots foundation. The event kicked off with the monthly Cars & Coffee meet, followed by a spirited 80-mile road rally through the countryside, and arrived back at Suncoast for a cookout. Over 50 cars attended Cars & Coffee in the morning and 36 cars made the journey on the traffic-free roads in East Sarasota County.
An entire pallet box was overflowing with toy donations and a check for $350 was presented to the Toys for Tots foundation. Thank you to everyone who donated and participated. We’ll see you all next year! Continue reading
The annual Orlando Supercar run departed from Lamborghini Palm Beach and headed West to the Portofino Resort Hotel in Orlando, Florida. About 25 cars made the journey for an overnight stay at the beautiful resort across the street from Universal Studios. My camera car was a gorgeous Maserati Gran Turismo Convertible. Continue reading
