Ferrari Challenge 2012: Homestead-Miami Speedway

 Peter Tromboni Photography | Teamspeed.com

Just as I did a year ago at the 2011 Ferrari Challenge event in South Florida I was on hand as a media photographer shooting exclusively for Teamspeed.com. The day started out at The Collection for breakfast with a tasty lineup of beautiful Ferraris. We departed on a police escorted caravan to the race track for hours of fun out on the road course. A catered lunch before the Challenge race kept everyone refreshed during the day. Over 100 street cars and twenty 458 Challenge race cars attended the event. Continue reading

A Photo A Day: Ripping Up Sebring

A good friend of mine really knows how to have fun. Every time I’ve seen him behind the wheel of his highly modified Ferrari 355 Challenge he’s grinning from ear to ear. This image is of my friend ripping up Sebring International Raceway during a Ferrari Challenge Club Racing event in 2011. I’ll never forget what he told me that weekend: “Drive fast and take risks.”

This photo was shot at the Start/Finish Line at Daytona International Speedway during the Celebration Exotic Car Festival. Larry was having a blast out there in his Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. I was fortunate enough to ride along as a passenger with Larry for a few laps. There’s nothing quite like hitting the high banks of Daytona in an open-top Lamborghini.

Ferrari Challenge 2011: Homestead-Miami Speedway

The Ferrari Challenge Series hit Homestead-Miami Speedway for a full weekend of track time last month. After missing out on last year’s excitement there was no way I was going to miss out on this one too. So after departing Sarasota, Florida at 4:30am my girlfriend, Raelynn, and I arrived at The Collection in Miami for a catered breakfast with over 100 Ferraris. We joined in on a police escorted caravan to the race track where a parade lap warmed up the track. While shooting for Teamspeed.com we were treated to a VIP lunch up in the Champions Club overlooking Turn 1 while the Challenge Cars were practicing. A great day that I’m looking forward to again next year.

Preview: Festivals of Speed Orlando

There are very few automotive events in the state of Florida that do things quite as big as the Festivals of Speed. FOS Founder and President Joe Sabatini has been putting on weekend-long masterpieces from 2004 and currently runs 4 events per year in Florida. The events include Jet Port Reception parties in private airport hangars, golf tournaments, wine connoisseurs’ dinners, and a motorsports collection and luxury lifestyle display featuring some of the rarest and most expensive cars on the planet. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend these events in Miami, Orlando, and St. Petersburg, and I’ll be in attendance again at the 2011 Festivals of Speed Orlando from October 7-9 at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes Resort Hotel.

2011 CECF – Sebring Trackday

2011 Celebration Exotic Car FestivalCelebration Exotic Car Festival -It’s been a whole year since I attended my first Celebration Exotic Car Festival in 2010. Last April I went to the Sebring trackday with my father and then to the Saturday exotic car show with a friend of mine. I knew that this year I couldn’t miss it and I had to do something to be a part of the whole event. Donating my services for 3 full days I was on hand as a media photographer for the entire weekend. I shot at Sebring International Raceway on Friday April 8th, the Concours show and Jet Port Reception party on Saturday April 9th, and concluded with the 111 mile exotic car Road Rally and catered lunch at Disney World’s Beach Club Resort on Sunday April 10th. The following images are a compilation from the Sebring trackday and Ferrari Challenge Race. High resolution prints are available from everything you see.

2011 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance

I was on hand at this year’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance shooting for my colleague Teamspeed.com. The show was held on the grounds of the wonderful Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and the whole weekend was fantastic. The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is a show that features some of the rarest and most exclusive classic and vintage cars in the world. For instance, the last ever built Shelby Cobra 427 , valued in the multi-millions of dollars, was proudly on display for guests to see. I’m looking forward to attending again in 2012.

NASA Trackday at Sebring International Raceway

My second trip out to the 3.7 mile racing circuit at Sebring International Raceway brought me out for a NASA trackday event. The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) holds organized trackdays all year at several different motorsports venues around the country. The event was run on the historic 12 Hour course, a race track configuration that is world famous and has been featured in a number of recent video game titles.
